The Rise and Rise of Arjun Kapoor

Ever since he made his debut in YRF’s ‘Ishaqzaade’,  Arjun Kapoor has been lauded as the next best thing in Bollywood. Not only did Arjun wow everyone in ‘Ishaqzaade’, but achieved a hat-trick of success with his next two films ‘Gunday’ and ‘2 States’.

While Ishaqzaade made on a humble budget went on to collect impressive numbers at the B/O, his next two blockbusters Gunday and 2 States had the cash registers ringing. This makes Arjun Kapoor the youngest actor to be welcomed into the 100 crore club. What makes this achievement even more impressive, is the fact that 2 States was a solo-hero film and the first-of-its-kind to see such unprecedented success.

A respected trade analyst states, “Arjun Kapoor is undoubtedly the leader of the pack when it comes to his generation of actors and the box office numbers are there to prove – Backed by 3 blockbusters , the rise of “Arjun Kapoor” has been phenomenal for someone who is just 2 years old in the industry. Arjun Kapoor has truly turned out to be a dark-horse at the box office”.

Arjun will be next seen in Sanjay Kapoor’s ‘Tevar’,  one of the most anticipated films this year.If sources are to believed ,distributors have been clamoring for Tevar after the phenomenal success of 2 States, which garnered the highest box office amount this far for a new-cast film.

Directed by renowned ad filmmaker Amit Sharma , Tevar will also star Sonakshi Sinha , an actress with major box office appeal .All  eyes are on the film as producer Sanjay Kapoor is ecstatic with the developments on the commercial entertainer as it has blockbuster written all over it.

Says a source, “Tevar is one of the most anticipated films this year as it brings together Sonakshi Sinha , a lucky mascot at the box office and Arjun Kapoor who is turning out to be a box office Boy Wonder. The film will mark the directorial debut of Amit Sharma who also directed the Google ad film and is a talent to watch out for”.

Fugly – Hindi Movie review

Rating: **

Unsuccessful attempt at creating a 'Me too' product of Rang De Basanti.

“Fugly” is a story of four close friends Dev (Mohit Marwah), Devi (Kiara Advani), Gaurav (Vijendra Singh) and Arfi Lamba (Tatti). Here Gaurav is a son of politician (Hari Singh Ahalawat) who is instrumental in often bailing out his friends whenever they are in a ditch. Or in simple words ‘saved’ whenever they break any rules. Hence these four move around as ‘tension free guys’.

Except for watching Mohit Marwah (Sonam Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor’s cousin), and even more than him, the young generation would like to go and watch it for our Olympian medalist Vijender Singh in his debut film. He is just awesome. Other than these guys, there aren’t any praiseworty performances from rest of the cast, and hence support of special appearances by Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan.
