Ritesh Batra moderates an interactive session with Radhika Apte and Sharat Kataria

Mumbai, March 13, 2015: 

Ritesh Batra's Poetic License, in its initiative to revive Irani Cafe's in Mumbai, held an interactive chat session with Sharat Katariya (the director of Dum Laga Ke Haisha) and Radhika Apte ( (the actress of Badlapur and Hunterrr)at theiconic Irani cafe, Kyani's & Co on March 13th.

Sharat and Radhika talked about their own process of directing and acting, respectively. Sharat spoke about working with actors and Radhika about getting in the skin of a character. Ritesh Batra moderated the session about the process of working on a film.
The one hour long session was held from 10-11 am at the Irani cafe and was attended by film enthusisats and aspiring filmmakers.

When an aspiring actor asked Radhika about auditioning she said, "I wouldn't have got Badlapur if I had to audition. I am terrible in auditions". Sharat also expressed a similar opinion about being tested for his writing skills, "If someone asks me to give sample of my wiring to test my skills, I just cant write."

Allahabad hosts Prayag 2015 Film Fest

Allahabad, ready to host 1st International Film Festival of Prayag 2015

First time in the history of Allahabad, the holy city of India, is ready to hold 1st Edition of International Film Festival of Prayag. Focusing on promoting the Art in Cinema, IFFP’s theme is to bring in light the Talent of Northern India and on the other hand, inspire the young and dynamic film professionals. 
Going to be held on 26th, 27th and 28th Feb’15, this Film Festival will screen Documentaries, Short Films, Animation and Feature Films, from across the world. With the immense participation of the Filmmakers, this 3 day long festival is going to screen the best of Independent Films that have come from India and other countries like Poland, Israel, and Korea.   
Founded by Z&Z Media Pvt Ltd, IFFP has also received a prestige of honoring the Veteran Actor, Padmashri OM PURI with the Lifetime Achievement Award. As we quoted him saying: “It is really good to know that this kind of a Festival is going to be held in Prayag. This will certainly work as a booster for all the Film amateurs and young aspirants who want to make their stand in the Film Industry.”   Further, the ambience will become more enchanting with the presence of an acclaimed Filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia. Known for his films like Paan Singh Tomer, Saheb Biwi and Gangster, Kahaani, Bullet Raja and more, we will also be felicitating his contribution in the film industry. This is not all, but Tigmanshu Dhulia will inspire the ambitious young filmmakers by his motivational speech on films.  
The Festival will start with the Opening Film Jai Jawaan Jai Kisaan, a biopic on the glorious life of former Prime Minister of India, Lal Bahadur Shastri. This film is written by Dhiraj Mishra, who is also one of the guests in the film festival is quite happy with the thought of IFFP and says: “it feels nice to be a part of IFFP, wherein not only the experienced Filmmakers but also the Independent young Film enthusiasts are given a chance to showcase their works in front of the film professionals.”

Total 30 Films on both National and International grounds are going to be screened few of which have won several Awards at the other Film Festivals. Unique in their own ways and related to some social cause or the other, films like Sharminda, The Heat, Gandhi, Hindu Nectar, My Sin, Goonga Pehlwan, Tara, etc will be screened at the festival.
