Casting Couch still exists in Bollywood film industry: Rozlyn Khan

Rozlyn Khan, filmytown.com

Rozlyn Khan, who has been part of projects like Dhama Choukdi, Savita Bhabhi, Jee Lene Do Ek Pal, and Crime Alert, shared that coming from a non-filmy background, she had her own share of struggle, but every rejection was a lesson for her and added to her personal growth.

She said, “My journey in Bollywood began with a deep love for storytelling and performance. I didn’t come from a film background, so it was all about knocking on doors, auditioning endlessly, and building connections slowly. It started with small steps — a lot of rejections, but every ‘no’ taught me how to find my ‘yes.’

“Like most outsiders, the biggest struggles were access and being taken seriously. Sometimes, talent isn’t enough — you have to prove your consistency, your work ethic, and your resilience. There were moments of self-doubt, but they became fuel for growth,” she added. She also confessed that her first break was the hardest and added,

“The industry is competitive, and often the decision-makers play it safe with known faces. But eventually, someone took a chance on me — and that one opportunity became a stepping stone for everything that followed.” Having spent a fair amount of time in the industry, Rozlyn mentioned that the casting couch exists in the industry and said, “We’d be lying if we said it doesn’t. I have had my share of uncomfortable encounters, but I learned early on to draw clear boundaries. It’s unfortunate that saying ‘no’ can sometimes slow your progress, but I’d rather succeed on my terms than compromise my integrity.” The actress is a cancer survivor and shared that she will continue to work, create, and inspire.

She said, “Every project after that feels like a gift. It gave my journey a whole new meaning and purpose.” She is drawn to layered, meaningful characters that resonate with real people. She added, “Whether it’s drama, comedy, or grey-shaded roles, I want to play parts that leave a lasting impact.”

“I’m open to OTT — it’s an exciting space with great writing and strong characters. But I also believe in doing what aligns with my comfort zone and values. I won’t say yes to bold scenes or language just for shock value. If it’s organic to the story and handled sensitively, I’m open to exploring — but never at the cost of self-respect,” Rozlyn ended.

This year, Cannes has seen an influx of Indian influencers and models gracing the red carpet. However, Singh expressed concern over this trend, stating, “Cannes is an international platform focused on cinema, not fashion. We need more elegant and accomplished actresses representing Indian cinema, not just anyone.”

He further clarified, “I am not here only for the red carpet. My focus is on cinema, collaboration, and creating opportunities for Indian filmmakers.”

In addition to his film contributions, Singh has played a pivotal role in shaping India’s institutional presence at Cannes. Last year, he was instrumental in bringing the Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA) to the festival. This year, his efforts were marked by a historic achievement—Shri Abhay Sinha was appointed Vice President of the FIAPF (International Federation of Film Producers Associations), a landmark moment for India in the global cinema governance space.

Singh emphasized the need for a unified and credible voice in international award submissions, stating, “It is extremely important to decide which association holds the authority to select and send Indian films to the Oscars. We need transparency and proper representation to ensure the best of Indian cinema reaches the global stage.”

With his continued advocacy and cinematic contributions, Chandrakant Singh is not only a filmmaker but a powerful voice for India’s place in world cinema.

In the Cover Story, Disha reflects on her journey, from nearly pursuing a career in biotechnology to discovering her passion for acting through auditions. “I started enjoying acting while preparing for scenes,” she shares. “I think I fell in love with it during the process. It wasn’t a planned path, but I’m grateful I took the chance – and that my family supported me through it all.”

Disha speaks fondly of her upbringing: “My father pushed me and my sister to be strong and independent. We’ve pushed cars, changed batteries. He wanted us to be capable – and that mindset has stayed with me.”

Recalling her early days navigating a high-pressure industry, Disha said,

The teaser opens with a beautiful shayari (said by Abhishek) playing in the background, while he is looking at a pic of Noor (played by Amandeep). Every morning he starts his day looking at her pic, hoping she would become his destiny one day. The subtle background score, the beautiful sunlit shot, and of course Abhishek’s well-toned body make the teaser the perfect peek into the amazing story that will unfold on June 6 on the official YouTube channel of Dreamiyata Dramaa.

Sargun and Ravie’s previous shows - Dil Ko Rafuu Karr Lei, which featured Ayesha Khan and Karan V Grover in lead roles, and Lovely Lolla, which had Gauahar Khan and Isha Malviya, had created a huge buzz for their Pak-drama vibes. The characters were simple yet edgy, with nothing over-the-top that made it easier for the audience to resonate with them. Be it their nuanced storytelling or the emotional depth, Ravie and Sargun don’t just aim for surface-level romance; they dig deeper into interpersonal dynamics and cultural context, much like the best K-dramas and Pakistani serials.

And the teaser of Tujhse Haii Ashiqui is a step ahead of what the viewers got to see earlier. The aesthetically shot scenes, the longing for one’s love, and the original background music have the audience going gaga over the 50-second teaser, and they can’t wait to see what the production house has in store for them.

The teaser is a promise of quality, depth, and a kind of storytelling that respects both it's characters and its audience. We can tell the viewers are in for something truly special.

Rahul Kumar Tewary's Udne Ki Aasha Twist: Sachin Turns Into Rooh Baba to Unmask the Jewelry Thief

The hit television show *Udne Ki Aasha*, produced by Rahul Kumar Tewary under Rahul Kumar Tewary Productions in association with Rolling Tales Production, continues to deliver unexpected drama and thrilling plot twists that keep audiences hooked.

In a newly released promo, the storyline takes a spooky turn as Sachin, played by Kanwar Dhillon, adopts the persona of Rooh Baba — a character made famous by Kartik Aaryan in *Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3*. His goal? To uncover the truth behind Sayali’s missing jewelry.

Earlier in the series, it was revealed that Renuka secretly gave Sayali’s jewelry to Tejas, who, instead of using it as collateral, sold it for cash. Suspicious of their actions, Sayali and Sachin come up with an out-of-the-box plan to make the culprits confess. Sachin disguises himself as a ghostbuster-like figure, using theatrics and "black magic" to rattle Renuka and Tejas.

The Star Plus promo showcases a chilling moment where Renuka is terrified after seeing a chair move on its own. Her screams draw the whole family to the scene, just as Sachin makes a dramatic entry dressed as Rooh Baba, intent on exposing the thief. His eerie act shakes up the household, leaving the guilty unnerved.

The promo is captioned: *"Baba Sachin aaye hain chor ko pakadne…Ghar mein mach gaya hai hungama! Kya asli chor hoga be-naqaab?"*

In the recent episodes, Sayali and Sachin discover that the gold jewelry is fake. Despite their concern, they decide to hide the truth from the family to avoid disrupting their grandmother’s birthday celebration. However, the truth begins to surface due to interference from Riya’s mother. Renuka then attempts to frame Sayali for the loss, but the family sides with Sayali. Determined to clear the confusion and expose the truth, Sachin and Sayali focus their suspicions on Renuka and Tejas.

Starring Neha Harsora and Kanwar Dhillon in lead roles, *Udne Ki Aasha* on Star Plus  has consistently performed at the top of the TRP charts. The ensemble cast also includes Sanjay Narvekar, Radhika Vidyasagar, and Puru Chibber, all contributing to the show's ongoing success.
