Will ‘Fitoor’ make ‘Body Sculpting’ the new in thing?

If one goes by Aditya’s new avatar for ‘Fitoor’, one can surely start believing that, flaunting six- or eight-pack abs for a film have become passe .
Aditya Roy Kapur has taken a different route to showcase a well-toned physique in his next- ‘Fitoor’. He has opted for body sculpting.
“Aditya has always had an athletic physique, but for ‘Fitoor’, that stars Katrina Kaif — he decided to take up body sculpting to develop a completely different look from what has been seen of him before,” says a source.
Body sculpting or core conditioning is a non-aerobic, muscle-toning regimen that usually focuses on one’s core strength. “It is a technique that is used to shape the muscles in one’s body to perfection without bulking it up in any way,” adds the source.

A masterpiece of love, and war, exploring the romantic side of a 18th-century Maratha general, Bajirao Ballal Bhat, a brahmin by birth and who fought and won 41 battles at a stretch against the Mughals with an aim to create a unified Hindu kingdom across India.

The glorious rule of the Peshwas, its grandeur, their culture, and the their large heartedness during those times takes us back to that era of righteous rulers which we have only learnt in our history lessons.

It opens with a Maratha emperor Chhatrapati Shahu (Mahesh Manjrekar) seeking nominations for the post of the Peshwa (a Prime Ministerial candidate). The brahmin youth Bajirao (Ranveer Singh) with his superlative display of his skill and wisdom lands him the title. History has a special mention about this Peshwa’s reputation as a warrior and statesman par excellence which is widely known.

Is Kunal Kapoor- the Indian Ashton Kutcher?

The dashing Kunal Kapoor has been in the limelight for his dapper looks and amazing acting prowess. He received a lot of appreciation for his performance in his latest film ‘Kaun Kitne Paani Mein’.

In fact, New York Times referred to him as the ‘Indian Mathew McCougnahey’ But we think if he has to be compared with a Hollywood counterpart – he would be more on the lines of Ashton Kutcher.

Like his Hollywood counterpart, besides being known as a phenomenal actor, he is also known as an entrepreneur and a startup investor. Kunal is the co-founder of Asia’s largest crowdfunding platform ‘Ketto’, besides having invested in a number of start-ups which he is closely associated with. He is spotted speaking at tech conferences, as much as he is at film functions.

Well, from what we hear from our sources, it’s said that he has become the ‘go to guy’ amongst his film friends that are looking to invest in startups.

Onir discovers Arpita Pal for Shab

Onir’s upcoming romance-drama, Shab will introduce Bangla superstar Prosenjit’s wife Arpita Pal as the female lead. The movie also starring Raveena Tandon will transform Arpita’s traditional Bengali beauty’s image into a hip South Delhi socialite.

Interestingly, Onir had visited Prosenjit’s place in Kolkata for a script narration and while discussing the same, he came across Arpita and was fascinated by her look. The National award winning filmmaker spoke to Prosenjit about her who was later introduced to him.

While Onir had started working on the script of Shab, he felt that Arpita fits perfectly for the role of a socialite in his movie. Arpita heard the script and liked it but the only concern for Onir was that her character needed to sport boy cut hair and Arpita had long hair. He convinced her to cut her hair short as he didn’t want her to use a wig. Arpita was convinced and she bagged the role in Shab.

Set in Delhi, Shab is an edgy, dark and complex relationship story revolving around three central characters played by Raveena Tandon, newcomer Ashish Bisht and Arpita and will release next year.

Onir says, “The first time I saw Arpita, I was quite fascinated by her sensuous and good looks. After giving it a thought, I realised Arpita is apt for the role, but I wasn’t sure whether she’ll agree to do the movie or not. I’m glad I got Arpita on board for Shab.”

Sonu Sood’s intense horse riding for Kung Fu Yoga

Sonu Sood is currently shooting for Jackie Chan’s forthcoming Hollywood film, Kung Fu Yoga, being directed by Stanley Tong.

The fitness enthusiast, who plays a royal character in his debut English venture, learnt horse riding for the movie. The actor shares screen space with a horse and falcon belonging to the UAE royal family.

Sonu says, “It was tough riding a horse striding across the hot sands, with the powerful and heavy falcon, perched on my hand. That is my introductory scene in the film. Both animals belong to the UAE royal family.”

“I can stand on a horse and ride now. I learned horse riding during Jodhaa Akbar. Stanley thought making my entry on a horse would look regal and larger-than-life. But as they say, the most beautiful visuals can be achieved under the most difficult conditions,” Sonu adds.

The talented actor, who is all praise for producer and co-star Jackie Chan, informs, “Jackie is one of the finest, most grounded superstars I have met. It is a treat to work with him. He takes care of you and makes you feel very special.”

The actor is flying to China next week to shoot the remaining scenes of Kung Fu Yoga.

Dhara 302 is about dacoits of Kota in Rajasthan

Jitendra Singh Naruka, the director of upcoming crime drama film – Dhara 302 says that the audience would be surprised to know that there existed the regime of dacoits in Kota in Rajasthan, similar to what it was in Chambal in U.P.

Talking to FILMY TOWN, Jitendra puts forth his point, “Till now, you used to see movies made on lives of bandits who are in UP, Bihar, Lucknow, etc. There isn’t any film made on the bandits from Rajasthan. People have the general impression that all the Rajasthanis are timid Marwaris, who are shopkeepers and fearful, feeble people. No one ever has heard of any Rajasthani outlaws or a criminal.
When asked about how he decided on this genre, he said, “During a research of crimes in Rajasthan, we came across the real life story of Bhanupratap who was a collegian in around 1997. The crime-lords in Rajasthan had their blessing on this lad, and he started growing by stature as the time passed.”
Speaking about his protagonist, he continued, “Bhanupratap was never scared of death. he used to keep pistols as toys. The loots at the Toll naka fascinated him. There were netas who shielded him. And he even confronted some of them after he grew up in his stature as a dreaded dacoit.”
“There was a telecom company by a prominent business group to be launched in Rajasthan which was threatened by Bhanupratap and hence withdrew their handsets from the market. It was only after coming to a settlement with Bhanupratap that this company launched the mobile handsets in a large scale.”

Goa Governor Mridula Sinha at K KH G – 21st Century screening

A 50 year old uneducated man rises from ashes to glory with the help and support of seven year old boy. Filmy Town reveals the gist of K..Kh..G..21st Century, which is produced by Shakuntala Art & Creations

The Governor of Goa, Mridula Sinha is also a renowned writer in Hindi Literature. Even after her marriage, she pursued a post-graduate degree in Psychology. She, along with her husband were interested in serving the poor and the uneducated, rather than in making money. The couple therefore settled at Motihari, a remote and under-developed East Champaran District of Bihar.

Speaking to Filmy Town, the story, screenplay and dialogue writer, Mukesh Kumar Malo said, “‘K Kh G… 21st Century’ is an edutainment (education through entertaining medium) film depicting the importance and value of education for a common man. After watching it the viewer would say “padhna likhna jaruri hai ” (being literate is must or education is must!)

The movie shows the journey of a commoner, who is exploited due to his illiteracy and ignorance. The shattered truck driver is given a hope to survive by a bright and confident seven year old boy. The child educates him and equips him with the power of knowledge to assert his rights and win back his pride and property. His quest for knowledge doesn’t end here….

We are blessed that a such a noble personality attended our film screening and encouraged us”, said Bipin Vinayak who plays the protagonist ‘Buddhan’ in the acclaimed film, covered by Filmy Town, which held its special preview on on 24th November 2015 at the NFDC Film Bazaar in Goa.

TAMASHA – Movie Review

Rating: ***
(Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone)

Create your own myth, choose your own story. This is what the director tells us through Tamasha which has Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in love with each other.

We have a fairy-tale romance of Ranbir and Deepika’s love story with the backdrop of picturesque Corsica bistros, dreamy countryside, sparkling blue waters. This could go down as one of the most complex love stories woven by Imtiaz Ali.

‘Tamasha’ tell you that one doesn’t need to be satisfied with the stories that one hears around.

Ved Vardhan Sahni (Ranbir Kapoor) is enchanted by stories, who grows up hearing them and expresses himself by performing them. Ved is a dreamer. A free spirited person who wants everybody around him to be happy.
