Dhara 302 is about dacoits of Kota in Rajasthan

Jitendra Singh Naruka, the director of upcoming crime drama film – Dhara 302 says that the audience would be surprised to know that there existed the regime of dacoits in Kota in Rajasthan, similar to what it was in Chambal in U.P.

Talking to FILMY TOWN, Jitendra puts forth his point, “Till now, you used to see movies made on lives of bandits who are in UP, Bihar, Lucknow, etc. There isn’t any film made on the bandits from Rajasthan. People have the general impression that all the Rajasthanis are timid Marwaris, who are shopkeepers and fearful, feeble people. No one ever has heard of any Rajasthani outlaws or a criminal.
When asked about how he decided on this genre, he said, “During a research of crimes in Rajasthan, we came across the real life story of Bhanupratap who was a collegian in around 1997. The crime-lords in Rajasthan had their blessing on this lad, and he started growing by stature as the time passed.”
Speaking about his protagonist, he continued, “Bhanupratap was never scared of death. he used to keep pistols as toys. The loots at the Toll naka fascinated him. There were netas who shielded him. And he even confronted some of them after he grew up in his stature as a dreaded dacoit.”
“There was a telecom company by a prominent business group to be launched in Rajasthan which was threatened by Bhanupratap and hence withdrew their handsets from the market. It was only after coming to a settlement with Bhanupratap that this company launched the mobile handsets in a large scale.”

TAMASHA – Movie Review

Rating: ***
(Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone)

Create your own myth, choose your own story. This is what the director tells us through Tamasha which has Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in love with each other.

We have a fairy-tale romance of Ranbir and Deepika’s love story with the backdrop of picturesque Corsica bistros, dreamy countryside, sparkling blue waters. This could go down as one of the most complex love stories woven by Imtiaz Ali.

‘Tamasha’ tell you that one doesn’t need to be satisfied with the stories that one hears around.

Ved Vardhan Sahni (Ranbir Kapoor) is enchanted by stories, who grows up hearing them and expresses himself by performing them. Ved is a dreamer. A free spirited person who wants everybody around him to be happy.

PK - Hindi movie review

Rating: ***

Its OMG! Oh My God revisited. PK is a satire on “God and godmen” with an unique narration, superb performances from the pivotal characters, yet is a lengthy film which stretches on the same issue of having called a ‘Wrong Number’ while seeking the almighty.

The Managers of God have been again exposed in this film where an alien (resembling human race) comes to earth on his mission to survey the life and times of the inhabitants of this planet.

PK is not a futuristic or a sci-fi film, it deals about the ordeals of the alien man who is clean hearted, doesn’t tell lies, doesn’t hurt anybody, has the ability to grasp the language within few hours of just holding hands of a human. Like the data being transferred from one hard disk to another. This person has the ability to adapt easily to the new surroundings.

Mine is an entertaining comedy: Sarovar Banka, Director of A Decent Arrangement

A one-on-one with the Director of the much acclaimed film.
How would you describe your film A Decent Arrangement?
I’d say that it is a small film about Adam, an Indian American who comes to India and seeks the help and guidance of his elder cousin played by Shabana Azmi in search of an arranged marriage. The film deals with the dilemma of today’s youth who are unable to decide whether they want to opt for an arranged marriage or a love marriage and the extent to which they are ready to walk the extra mile to get what they want.

How did you zero in on an actress like Shabana Azmi ?
I should say that it was pure luck that led me to Shabana as I knew some one who knew her. I sent my script to India to her and I was pleasantly surprised when Shabana called me back to say that she would be happy to be part of my film as an actress. Shabana Azmi surprises you as an actress every minute on the sets and you can be sure of getting your shot in the first take itself with her 99% as she was ready with her lines and fully prepared

How was your leading man Adam as an actor?
Not many either in India or abroad know Adam, who ism playing the lead in my film. What I like about Adam is that he is an incredible actor who was not at all in awe of Shabana Azmi when he was pitted in my film.
