Outstanding shows by the finest men's wear designers at ILSW Bangalore

India's first men's Fashion Week, ILSW-Bangalore continues on with outstanding shows by the finest men's wear designers

Day two of India Luxury Style Week at the Moevenpick Hotel & Spa, Bangalore, started great pomp and fanfare as Himmat Singh from Jaipur commenced the evening with a royal entrance! Himmat's clothes reflected the royal era and lineage that Rajasthan is famed for with form fitted jackets, extravagant yet classic sherwanis, and stately bandh galas.

It therefore does not come as a surprise to know that celebrities like Abhishek Bachchan, Ritesh Deshmukh, Aditya Roy Kapur, Navjot Singh Sidhu are loyal fans of his creations. The authentic Rajasthani dhol beats merged with eclectic sounds added to the royalty of Himmat's show. The highlight of this show was undoubtedly the showstopper's entrance to his hit song, none other than Rahul Roy to the Aashiqui title track wearing a sherwani that was fit for a king!

The following show was by designer Shravan Ramaswamy. "Indralok- An Ode to the Weaves and Weavers" by Shravan Ramaswamy was a revival of ethnic and regal Eco friendly fabrics and prints wherein Shravan took inspiration from Jamini Roy's style of art. Jamini's bold brushstrokes in sensuous hues and bright colors was evident in the bold palette of his creations that ranged from jumpsuits in geometric prints, checkered well fitted jackets, Ikat and Benarasi weaves for his four goddesses who were his show stoppers from Southern Cinema namely Shubra Aiyappa, Praniti Rai and Ragini Dwivedi. From free flowing kurtas to gladiators, and military jackets in stripes Shravan's works  had an amalgamation of modern of the traditional with Weavers and Weaves of India as the hero of this show!

The day's event was concluded with Rohit verma's breathtaking fashion show. Rohit Verma, a winner of several international awards, bridal wear, pret and couture evening gowns and more. A designer who has seen the struggle and come out shining, he dedicates all his work to and takes inspiration from Lord Krishna.

This collection at ILSW reflected the grandeur associated with the Indian Mogul Era with vibrant and striking colors, models making an entry with Genda  Phools and Sandip Soparrkar twirling with grace, statement  embellishments and earrings on men, the stage was set for fashion and theatre with the last show of day two, the showstopper was none other than Indian Television's favourite chocolate boy, Rohit Roy who post the show was heard saying that, "I was the showstopper today but the clothes and the headgear and jewellery were the actual showstoppers.

There is a lot of things Rohit has had to go through and to overcome all of that and to reach where he has reached, it's commendable and fantastic and I wish him all the best."
