Baahubali : The Beginning – Hindi movie review

Rating: ****

A spectacular fantasy film that enthralls you with it grandeur and a war between two brothers – Baahubali played by Prabhas and Bhallala Deva (Rana Daggubati) for a kingdom.
Period films are supposed to be so designed immacutely as there is no room for mistakes. Saby Cyril, the art director of the film has created everything from scratch that is the chairs, thrones, palaces, swords, armor and costumes. Quodos.
The highlight of Baahubali is the waterfall (definitely created digitally) which appears so real that one feels the immediate desire to visit this place once in a lifetime atlease.

Over 100 days shooting a waterfall sequence in the upcoming Baahubali

109 days to shoot waterfall sequence in Baahubali

S S Rajamouli shot the waterfall sequence of his upcoming film Baahubali for 109 days.

The total time that took to shoot this particular sequence was almost equal to 1/3rd of the total shooting time of the film.

This was because it was one of the most important sequences of the film. The waterfall is almost a character in the film. It is pivotal to the fate of the lead actor’s life in the film. It is there from his childhood days till he grows.

The sequence features lead actor, Prabhas.

S S Rajamouli was personally involved in the recce of the place since he wanted the perfect location for the waterfall.

They shot at 3 different waterfall locations for the sequence.

Baahubali is the first ever Indian film that transcends regional boundaries and has a pan-India appeal.

Presented by Karan Johar, Baahubali is set to release on 10th July.

Rajamouli’s Baahubali’s songs video won’t be released before film’s release

SS Rajamouli has decided to not release the video of the songs of his upcoming film BAAHUBALI on TV before release

Aditya Chopra, for his big budget last release (Dhoom 3) chose to not keep any songs in the film when shown on TV; and now, Rajamouli, too, has decided to cut off a big budget song from the film for its TV release.
Aditya Chopra is known for his larger than life films. The director producer makes it a point to give a spectacular viewing to his audiences.
For Dhoom 3, he did not release the video of the songs on television or online. While the audio of the songs were out, Aditya did not want to ruin the scale of the film by showing it on a small screen. The song was to be experience on a large screen.

Taking inspiration from Aditya Chopra, SS Rajamouli too has decided to not release the video of the songs of his upcoming film BAAHUBALI. Rajamouli’s next will be touching film scale on another level. While the trailer of the film has been mesmerising, the songs of the film are an awe experience in itself.
The director wants the audiences to come and watch the songs on the big screen so as to be able to experience it in its full glory.
