In an industry governed by fast-fading trends and heavily filtered ideals, the concept of glamour is undergoing a quiet revolution. Leading this change is celebrity hairstylist and luxury salon mogul Florian Hurel. Known for crafting iconic looks for Bollywood’s elite, Hurel is pivoting away from rigid structures toward a philosophy that embraces raw, individual character. For him, the modern era of glamour has very little to do with flawless execution and everything to do with personal truth.
"When I started, I probably believed that beautiful hair was about achieving a perfect finish, the right shape, the right color, and the right amount of polish," Hurel reflects. "I thought the closer you came to perfection, the better the result."
Years of working closely with diverse personalities, textures, and structures changed his perspective entirely. The textbook definitions of "flawless" began to feel restrictive. He realized that technical precision means very little if it doesn’t resonate with the person carrying it.
"Today, I believe it has far more to do with suitability, individuality, and how a person feels wearing their hair," he explains. "A technically perfect look is not necessarily the right look for everyone."
