Darshana Khandelwal Joins ‘Divya Prem’ as April; Says Role Allows Her to "Explore Both Extremes"

Darshana Khandelwal Joins ‘Divya Prem’ as April

Much like the vibrant shift in nature during a change of seasons, Sun Neo’s Divya Prem: Pyaar Aur Rahasya Ki Kahani is set to introduce a character that embodies the essence of spring. Actress Darshana Khandelwal enters the fray as ‘April,’ bringing a magical, lively energy that promises to add fresh layers of intrigue and fantasy to the evolving storyline.

Talking about her character, Darshana said. "April is a very unique character because she isn’t purely positive or negative, she exists in a grey space. What makes her special is that her anger comes from a place of being misunderstood. She’s been reduced to a joke for years, and that emotional hurt drives her actions. But at the same time, she’s also a symbol of beauty, renewal, and life. That contrast is what makes her so layered and real."

She further added, "I’m genuinely very excited to play April because it gave me the opportunity to explore both extremes, controlled intensity in her revenge phase and softness in her true form. As an actor, it’s always exciting when a role allows you to shift emotionally and visually."

Sharing her excitement about her look she shared, "I think it’s one of the strongest elements of the character. The floral mascot look is very striking and slightly intense, it immediately reflects her inner conflict and power. On the other hand, her look in her own realm is soft, vibrant, and full of life, which beautifully represents her true essence. As a performer, both looks helped me get into the character instantly. Overall, April is not just a character, she’s a feeling and that’s what makes playing her so special for me"

Angoori Bhabhi aka Shubhangi Atre Reveals Her Coffee Ritual: 'It’s a Little Dose of Happiness'

Angoori Bhabhi aka Shubhangi Atre Reveals Her Coffee Ritual, filmytown.com

Television’s much-loved actress Shubhangi Atre, who continues to win hearts as Angoori Bhabhi in *Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai*, recently opened up about her affection for coffee, describing it as one of her simplest yet most treasured daily rituals.

For Shubhangi, coffee is more than just a beverage—it’s a source of comfort, energy, and positivity. “For me, coffee is more than just a drink—it’s a little dose of happiness. I personally enjoy a strong, classic filter coffee the most,” she shared with a smile. What draws her to filter coffee is not just its bold taste, but the way it grounds her and helps her begin the day on the right note.

“There’s something so comforting and grounding about its rich aroma and bold taste. It’s not just about the caffeine; it’s about the warmth and the feeling of starting my day on the right note,” she explained. Working on the sets of a long-running and much-loved sitcom like *Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai* requires immense energy, consistency, and a cheerful spirit, and Shubhangi admits coffee plays an important role in keeping her momentum high. “On set, we often have long shooting hours.

A good cup of coffee keeps the energy going—it refreshes me instantly and brings back my focus,” she said. She revealed that enjoying a coffee break with her co-stars and crew members has become a ritual in itself, giving everyone a chance to recharge and bond. “There’s a kind of joy in sharing a cup of coffee together on set. It becomes more than just about drinking—it’s about those few minutes of laughter, light conversations, and relaxation amidst a packed day of work,” she added.

Her fondness for filter coffee also reminds her of the traditional warmth it carries. Unlike quick brews or instant mixes, the rich and authentic taste of filter coffee makes her pause and savor the moment. For someone constantly juggling demanding roles, deadlines, and performances, coffee offers her a moment of calm within the chaos.

As audiences continue to adore her portrayal of Angoori Bhabhi, Shubhangi believes that rituals like coffee keep her grounded in real life. “It’s those little things that make all the difference. A cup of coffee in the morning or during a busy shoot not only boosts my energy but also makes me feel content and happy,” she concluded.

Ba***ds of Bollywood: When Bollywood meets nostalgia and satire…

Starring: Lakshya Lalwani, Sahher Bambba, Bobby Deol, Raghav Juyal, Anya Singh, Manish Chaudhari, Mona Singh, Manoj Pahwa, Gautami Kapoor, Rajat Bedi

Director: Aryan Khan

Ba***ds of Bollywood, nostalgia, satire, review by Akshita Gupta

Review by Akshita Gupta

They say that as a filmmaker, you should tell the stories you know best, and that is exactly what Aryan Khan has done with Ba***ds of Bollywood. This isn’t just Bollywood, it’s Bollywood². The most Bollywood that Bollywood could possibly get.

What’s the difference between ‘The Hindi Film Industry’ and “Bollywood”?….. - It’s the perception.

While both are supposed to be used interchangeably, the term ‘Bollywood’ has some additional connotations for us ‘normies’. To us, it is: glitz, glamor, songs, dancing, superstars, cameos, backstabbing, success parties, film families, paps, nepotism, the ‘movie mafia’, outsiders vs. insiders, and so much more.

Ba***ds of Bollywood has a lot of moments that feel reminiscent of Om Shanti Om, and yet, it is brand new and original in its own sharp way.

Lakshya is the ‘hero’ of this show and gets that treatment. He is fantastic in an action avatar, as was evident in Kill (2024). He possesses the ability to channel goofiness and excels in dramatic scenes; however, there are few such moments, and those that do occur flash by due to the screenplay's fast pace.

Bobby Deol as Ajay Talwar deserves a full essay. At 56, he looks better than ever and delivers some of his finest performances. What’s remarkable is how he has embraced his age – choosing not to de-age with technology, but instead playing age-appropriate roles, like the father of a twenty-something. That choice alone is refreshing to see from a star of his generation. On screen, he is menacing, tender, and kind, sometimes all within a single scene. That is the mark of experience. Watching him is an absolute delight.

This show is a riot and absolute chaotic fun for a Bollywood nut with all the masaala Bollywood moments and references that will make you laugh out loud - total 'theater ki seatei phatt gayi' vibes. Ba***ds of Bollywood is a satire on the Hindi Film Industry that speaks more to our preconceived notions than the true blue reality of it, and therein lies the sharpness of the writing.

Arjun Bijlani’s Humane Gameplay Makes Him Stand Out, Anaya Bangar Calls Him the Best

Arjun Bijlani

The latest episode of Amazon’s Rise and Fall once again highlighted Arjun Bijlani’s unique style of gameplay. Blending strategy with heart, he came across as the perfect playful mastermind—someone who entertains while staying mindful about every move he makes.

Arjun’s decisions in the episode reflected his brand of authenticity and fairness. Even in the heat of competition, he made it clear that breaking someone’s spirit to win is not acceptable. Instead, he kept motivating his teammates, proving that leadership is about encouragement, not intimidation.

A striking moment came during the ice task challenge, where players were tested not only on physical strength but also mental endurance. While many viewed it as a task better suited for men, Arjun openly questioned the gender bias, stressing that women deserve the same respect and opportunity to prove themselves. Though the task was not completed, his stand underlined that equality, fairness, and humanity should come before any rules of competition.

Through these moments, Arjun showed that his fight is not just for himself, but also for his team. His gameplay carried the message that humanity should always come first—no matter how tough the game gets.

In a format where strategies often override emotions, Arjun’s balance of fun, motivation, and principles continues to set him apart, making him one of the most impactful players of Rise and Fall.

Another highlight of the episode came when Anaya Bangar praised Arjun, saying that the way he plays the game makes him the best. She also mentioned that she would try to get closer to both Arjun and Kubra Sait, acknowledging the strong influence they bring to the competition.

The greatest teachers for anyone can be parents, life experiences and books: Ajay Gehi

The greatest teachers for anyone can be parents, life experiences and books: Ajay Gehi in filmytown.com

Putting across his point that one cannot have the privilege of always having a teacher to give you a road map, Ajay Gehi, who is known for his work in tv show Millie, and has done films like Maqbol, Raavan, and Not A Love Story, shares his thoughts on Teacher’s Day.

He says, "Teachers are extremely important for everyone, they're like a guiding light or GPS to one's life journey. People who have good teachers of any kind are blessed. It’s been a long career for me but I will be honest about this -- I don't have any mentor or guide in the industry."

"However, my parents have been my teachers for life. The greatest teachers for anyone can be parents, life experiences and books. A good mentor or a teacher is hard to find, but the right one can give you a road map to life so you don't make the same mistakes others make, you know when to slow down or when to speed.”

He also adds, "Teachers and mentors are important as they can give you the right knowledge to move forward and knowledge is power. Unfortunately, I never found myself a mentor or a teacher so the books I read became my teachers and guides. If you are keen to learn, life itself can be your greatest teacher."

Speaking that a man is not too old to learn anything, "I also believe that there is no age for learning and one should never stop themselves from learning something new or sharpen the skill.”

Ajay was last seen in Hero Gayab Mode On in which he played the antagonist, Shukracharya for which he also grabbed an award.

Speaking about his camaraderie with co-stars, Jackie fondly recalls his close bond with Danny Denzongpa, Dimple Kapadia, and Amrita Singh

Jackie Shroff recalls his close bond with Danny Denzongpa, Dimple Kapadia, and Amrita Singh, filmytown.com

Jackie Shroff
, the beloved Jaggu Dada of Indian cinema, opens up about his extraordinary journey from the streets of South Bombay to becoming one of Bollywood’s most iconic stars on In The Ring with Filmfare. In a warm and candid conversation with Filmfare’s Editor-in-Chief Jitesh Pillai, Jackie talks about growing up around politicians, kitchen staff, and drivers, the tragedy of losing his brother at a young age, and how his simple upbringing has shaped his profound empathy and street-smart charm.

Growing up in South Bombay, Jackie was surrounded by people from all walks of society— It’s this blend of experiences that shaped the man he is today. Discovered by chance, Jackie rose to fame with Subhash Ghai’s Hero, followed by hits like Ram LakhanKarma, and Parinda. Despite criticism, he remained unfazed, valuing experience over fame. With his unique blend of humility, passion, and emotional depth, Jackie Shroff remains a true original.

Jackie Shroff recalls growing up in the vibrant lanes of South Bombay“There is no level in me, I think I am just a human being. I lived a very casual life in South Bombay, surrounded by all the drivers, all the CMs, and all. There, all the rich kids and politicians used to play cricket, and I used to be in the house. We used to see the back office, also, and the front office too. The kitchen guy—he was my buddy. I got to know all kinds of human lives and people.”

He also opened up about the first loss in his life: “When I was 10, my brother passed away. It shook me up. Watching something like that scattered my heart. There was panic. That was the lesson—that no one is immortal in this world. He used to come and pick me up from school. He was everything to me.”

Reflecting on his breakthrough into Bollywood, Jackie shares a laugh about his unintentional first taste of fame,  “In the movie Hero, Subhash ji’s eyes and emotions were a buzz for me. I had no idea what gets shown in films. I was no one. That was my first publicity—my backside photo was there on a poster. My friends were excited and said, “Jackie, your photo is there!” I was like, “Why not the front side?” Then, after a few days, my close-up shots were out. People started noticing me.”

When it comes to criticism, Jackie has always remained grounded. “That’s their job, I can’t do anything,” he says calmly, “I can’t say anything to any critic. They used to dig me up. They’ve written all the negative things about me. I believe that was their choice, their job. I can't do anything about it. Subhash ji made me. He gave me films like Ram Lakhan, Karma, Yaadein, and Hero. That was my turning point.”

Speaking about his camaraderie with co-stars, Jackie fondly recalls his close bond with Danny Denzongpa, Dimple Kapadia, Amrita Singh, and others, “Danny sahab, Dimple ji, Dimpi, Amrita—they were my close co-stars. There were many. We loved to drink, we cooked, we planted. I learned a lot from them. We used to sing. Danny and I—we had the same mindset.”

Talking about his directors, Jackie describes, “Mahesh Bhatt as someone driven purely by emotion, Bhatt sahab is all about passion. He used to say, ‘Feel chahiye.’ We made Kaash just out of that word. He is very passionate. His work is always number one.”

Opening up about his personal life, Jackie shares glimpses of his carefree, romantic days with Ayesha“I used to write notes to Ayesha, make hearts, take my mom’s powder, go to the barber shop, and take powder for all the ladies. I used to get dressed for films, eat, walk around a lot, and dance the whole night. All those things are missing now. Nothing’s happening. I miss all that—going to art galleries, hanging out, going to the Gateway of India, and taking the last boat to Elephanta Caves. Matheran is my favorite place—I used to go horse riding there. Yes, I’m a responsible husband. I’ve become very responsible. Health-wise, I’ve become like a grandmother.”

In true Jackie style, when asked about relationships, he offers his signature wisdom: “I always say, men have the last word, that is SORRY. Respect women—don’t try to win a fight with them. They’re like atom bombs—just don’t go down to that level."

Deepa Shahi and Rajan Shahi’s Anupama, which is produced under their banner Shahi Productions Pvt. Ltd., has seen an impressive twist in the recent episodes. Anupama has finally worn her dancing shoes and is keeping the viewers hooked with her dance steps. While Anupama has formed a dance team of her own, she is still confused about the name. The lead actor, Rupali Ganguly, who plays the titular role in the show, has asked the viewers to help them with a suitable name.

Rupali shared a behind-the-scenes moment from the sets, where she, along with her other dance members, is discussing a hashtag for the group. She shared that she came across one suggestion, which was formed using their names, and the second was Anu Ki Toli. She then spoke to the viewers and thanked them for sending some suggestions. She then asked them to share more and more names, as the hunt is still on.

Uppu Kappurambu boasts a stellar ensemble cast led by Suhas and National Award-winning actor Keerthy Suresh, who is joined by Babu Mohan, Shatru, and Talluri Rameshwari in key roles. Uppu Kappurambu is set to premiere exclusively on Prime Video in India and over 240 countries and territories worldwide on July 4th, and will be available to stream in Telugu with dubs in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, and subtitles in 12 languages, including English.

Set in the early 1990s, unfolds in Chitti Jayapuram, a seemingly quiet village with a very bizarre crisis: it’s run Uppu Kappurambu out of space to bury the dead. As the newly appointed, idealistic village head Apoorva (Keerthy Suresh) takes charge, she faces ridicule from locals who are uncomfortable with a woman in power. Determined to fix things, she turns to Chinna (Suhas), the quirky graveyard caretaker, whose own motives spark unintended chaos. From a hilarious lucky draw to book graveyard slots to escalating village drama, the trailer presents a rollercoaster of wit, humour, and emotion, offering a sneak peek into a world where social satire meets unexpected warmth and chaos.

“What drew me to Uppu Kappurambu was its unique blend of satire and heart,” expresses Keerthy Suresh. Sharing insights about her character, she added, “Apoorva is a refreshingly different character. She’s idealistic, determined, and a little out of her depth. It was an absolute joy to bring her character to life, especially in a world so rooted in our rural culture. The film uses humour and local flavour to spotlight something serious, and that’s what makes it hit home. That’s also what moved me, and now, I can’t wait for audiences to experience this world on Prime Video.”

“Playing Chinna was unlike anything I’ve done before,” shares Suhas. “He’s a simple guy caught in a very odd and layered situation. The trailer beautifully captures the tone of the film. It’s quirky, emotional, and full of surprises. What I love about Uppu Kappurambu the most is that it never tries to be preachy. The trailer is just a peek, there’s a lot more madness and emotion waiting to be discovered, and I’m really excited for audiences around the world to witness it on Amazon Prime Video.”

Astrologer Rinhee Suberwal, who is also a choreographer as well as a past life regression therapist, vaastu consultant, numerologist and crystal healer, reads the cards for actor Ranbir Kapoor. She says that things would start to get better for him professionally soon.

“As of now, Ranbir Kapoor's phase looks decent, but things will start improving more strongly from October onwards. At the moment, some energies around him feel stuck, and he needs to find emotional balance. My advice to him would be to wear a 6 Nikki and a 7 Nikki, as they can work really well for him,” she says.

As for him balancing personal and professional life, she says, “He is going to be a wonderful father because his daughter, Raha, is very lucky for both him and his wife. She will bring good fortune not just to them but to the entire Kapoor family. Her presence will bring more love, happiness, and abundance into their lives. That’s the most beautiful part of it all. He was born on the 28th of September. As I often say, the combination of the numbers 2 and 8 creates what's called a ‘Vishayog,’ which makes him a very sensitive person.

Emotionally, Ranbir Kapoor goes through ups and downs more often than most people. That’s why it’s important for him to work on improving his emotional intelligence.”

She adds, “When it comes to their relationship, it looks like it will be average overall. Alia seems to be putting in more effort to make things work. For him, it’s very important to stay committed and stable in this marriage because his luck and growth in life are strongly connected to this relationship. Staying married will really help him in the long run.”
