Vivek Oberoi to dub Super Villain Electro’s voice in Hindi version of The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Mumbai, 20 March 2014… Sony Pictures India has selected actor Vivek Oberoi to be the Hindi voice of the main villain Max Dillon aka Electro in this year’s biggest Hollywood blockbuster THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 which releases on May 1^st. In the original English version, Electro is played by Oscar winning actor Jamie Foxx.

 

Kercy Daruwala, Managing Director – Sony Pictures India, said, “We are very happy to have Vivek on board for the Hindi version of The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The Hindi version is a large part of our box office and it’s a very important role that Vivek will be playing in its success. Vivek has played a villain so brilliantly in the past and is already a familiar face in the genre. Kids in particular love him.”

Actor Vivek Oberoi who is on a career high confirmed the news saying, “Yes, I will be Electro's voice in the Hindi version of The Amazing Spider-Man 2. I have always been a huge fan of the Spider-Man comics and films and am thrilled to see that the franchise has just grown bigger and better with each film. I have been tremendously excited for The Amazing Spider-Man 2's release ever since the first trailer came out, and when I was offered to voice Electro for the Hindi version, I was immediately interested in this unique opportunity. Max Dillon/Electro is an immensely fascinating and complex character and it will be interesting to face off with Spider-Man. After my turn as super villain Kaal in Krrish 3, whose 250 crore box office was incredibly gratifying, this is just the icing on the cake.”

He added: “I have already begun dubbing and am looking forward to the film’s release on May 1st!"

Krrish 3 - Bollywood Film Review ****

Super Hero meets his match - Kaal the most powerful antagonist

First ever Desi Super Hero – Krrish and best ever Special Effects for a Bollywood film, which matches the best in the world.

Bollywood can proudly announce its arrival to the world with its Super Hero Krrish, the most powerful antagonist – Kaal, Kaya the chameleon – who can adapt any person’s character and body, the powerful Cheetahwoman and the Antman who creates havoc with his long, highly flexible forked tongue that can be extended and used to trap its prey.

After defeating the villainous Dr. Siddhant Arya (Naseeruddin Shah) , and bringing his father Rohit back from the dead, Krrish (Hritik Roshan) continued fighting against evil and saving innocent lives.

Grand Masti - Bollywood Film Review

Grand Masti comes from the makers of Masti (2004), and ever since its initial promos it was projected as an adult comedy film, and so it is.

It isn’t expected to be a family film. Though the comedy at times falls much below our expectations. Simply put, most of the times it is cheap humour.

Take for instance, even the first part – Masti wasn’t appreciated by the family audience or the classes. This one too would be lapped up by the masses. Especially the Indian audience, maybe because there have never been Bollywood adult comedies before which can be equated or compared with.

It is a bit surprising that Deshmukh Junior and Vivek Oberoi signed for such ‘adult comedy’ which in its conclusion, is much below the ideal or broadly adult comedy levels.

Grand Masti is about three ex-students of a college – Amar, Prem and Meet (Ritesh Deshmukh, Aftab Shivdasani and Vivek Oberoi respectively) and it begins with them teaching their juniors how to have a good time at college. Like for example ‘A’ stands for – and then the camera zooms into the girls’ backside, ‘B’ stands for – and the camera zooms to woman’s chest.

Amar, Prem and Meet are married, but not satisfied with their sex life. The problem with these married men is that their wives give more attention to their family, the kids and their work.

Zila Ghaziabad

This action based film is about the gang wars in the hinterland between two rival groups of Satbir Gurjar and Mahender Fauji (a series of real life incidents) which ensued in Ghaziabad

Directed by Anand Kumar, whose previous film was Delhi Heights, Vivek Oberoi teams up with Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi for the first time.

Zila Ghaziabad appears to be inspired from the super hit action features Omkara and Dabangg. Any occasion is greeted by trigger-happy gangsters. The film is filled with vendetta, gravity defying stunts, slitting throats, pumping bullets and the story begins with unnecessary use of action like exploding bombs in a song sequence as Arshad Warsi returns to Ghaziabad.

We have two rival groups, led by the local Chairman (Paresh Rawal) and Rashid (Ravi Kissen), respectively whose henchmen are active in gang war sort of incidents. Chairman has a soft corner for Satbir (Vivek Oberoi), as he often helps him in situations where paper work is involved. Chairman’s daughter (Charmy Kaur) has fallen for the school teacher. Fauji (Arshad Warsi) is the Chairman’s right hand man for carrying out all his dirty work.

It is the Chairman’s growing respect and preferences for Satbir which leaves the Chairman’s good-for-nothing brother-in-law (Sunil Grover) jealous and then he sows the seeds of distrust. The brother in law plans an attack on Fauji’s home, making it look like it was Satbir’s work.

Then the Chairman’s right hand man Fauji crosses over to Rashid’s faction, while the goody ‘ahinsa wadi’ school teacher Vivek Oberoi is forced to take to violence and indulge in bloodshed when his elder brother (Chandrachur Singh) is killed by Fauji who is misinformed by a shrewd character who intends to avenge Chairman’s (Paresh Raval) insults.

The battle lines are drawn and the Police department has no other option but to depute a brawny cop, Pritam Singh (Sanjay Dutt), to wipe off the gangsters and restore peace in Ghaziabad. Pritam Singh the cop who is known for use of force to eliminate the gangsters, this time uses his chess-board shrewdness to wipe off the baddies without straining his hands.

Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story

A crime-romantic film that follows the life of Jayantabhai (Vivek Oberoi), a small time gangster falls unexpectedly in love with Simran (Neha Sharma) his neighbor. The film is produced by Kumar S. Taurani and directed by Vinnil Markan.

It is the story about how people unexpectedly fall in love with the people whom they had least expected to even in their dreams.

Jayantabhai is a street-thug who lives in Mumbai, a happy-go-lucky and a complacent single guy. Just staying opposite to his door is another tenant – Simran, who is a simple young girl, a go-getter and a rebel. 

They are worlds apart.

Here is a light and frothy romantic comedy of a small time gangster and a simple, jobless damsel who has 

come to Mumbai for a job. Simran comes to Mumbai and stays in a rented apartment, and it has Jayantabhai as her neighbour.
