Nil Battey Sannata’s first poster launched on Women’s Day!

Nil Battey Sannata’s first poster launched on Women’s Day!

The first official poster of Eros International, Colour Yellow Productions (Aanand L Rai) and Jar Pictures’ Nil Battey Sannata is out.
Directed by debutant filmmaker Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari (wife of filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari), the movie stars Swara Bhaskar, Ratna Pathak Shah, Ria and Pankaj Tripathi.
Since the film deals with a charming story of a mother and her daughter and talks about aspirations and dreams, the makers including producers – Aanand L Rai, Eros and Jar Pictures and director Ashwiny decided to reveal the movie’s first look on Women’s Day.
Interestingly, Swara will be seen portraying the challenging role of a mother for the first time on screen. Nil Battey Sannata is a lighthearted fun-filled exploration of a mother and daughter’s relationship to schooling and ambition. Tiwari’s drama is a powerful account of motherly love and the often turbulent conflict that can exist between generations.
The movie received tremendous response at the Silk Road International Film Festival in China and the BFI London Film Festival last year. Swara also won Best Actress award for the movie at the Silk Road International Film Festival.
Produced by Colour Yellow Productions and Jar Pictures and directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, Nil Battey Sannata stars Swara Bhaskar, Ratna Pathak Shah, Ria and Pankaj Tripathi. The film will be distributed in India by Eros International and it’s scheduled to release 22nd April 2016.

Swara Bhaskar takes a trip to The Great Wall Of China

Swara Bhaskar at the Great Wall of China

Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s directorial debut Nil Battey Sannata starring Swara Bhaskar was screened as the opening gala film at the 2nd Silk Road International Film Festival in Fuzhou, China. Swara, who essays the protagonist also won the Best Actress award at this prestigious film festival, for her portrayal of a stubborn teenager's determined mother.

Taking time out from her work commitments and busy schedule, Swara accompanied her movie director Ashwiny and acclaimed actress Ratna Pathak Shah, who will also be seen in the film, to travel to the festival.

The trio completed their commitments and took a Blitzkrieg trip of Beijing to catch the sights and sounds of the city, including one of the Seven Wonders of the World – The Great Wall of China. Swara is a well known travel aficionado and history buff and climbed the Great Wall of China with much enthusiasm.

Apparently a group of Iranian fellow tourists on the Great Wall recognised Swara as the Bindiya of Rannjhanaa and made her sing old Hindi film songs. The sporting and vivacious actress readily agreed. Sweet!

The Delhi born girl, her director, Colour Yellow Films executive producer Kanupriya and Ratna ji also shopped with enthusiasm. It is learnt that Swara is a tough bargainer and got them all great discounts on all their shopping using her charms, Dilli-wallah attitude and broken Chinese.

Needless to say the proud actor-director duo also indulged in partying, restaurant and bar-hopping too. Well deserved break we say!
