Rozlyn Khan, who has been part of projects like Dhama Choukdi, Savita Bhabhi, Jee Lene Do Ek Pal, and Crime Alert, shared that coming from a non-filmy background, she had her own share of struggle, but every rejection was a lesson for her and added to her personal growth.

She said, “My journey in Bollywood began with a deep love for storytelling and performance. I didn’t come from a film background, so it was all about knocking on doors, auditioning endlessly, and building connections slowly. It started with small steps — a lot of rejections, but every ‘no’ taught me how to find my ‘yes.’

“Like most outsiders, the biggest struggles were access and being taken seriously. Sometimes, talent isn’t enough — you have to prove your consistency, your work ethic, and your resilience. There were moments of self-doubt, but they became fuel for growth,” she added. She also confessed that her first break was the hardest and added,

“The industry is competitive, and often the decision-makers play it safe with known faces. But eventually, someone took a chance on me — and that one opportunity became a stepping stone for everything that followed.” Having spent a fair amount of time in the industry, Rozlyn mentioned that the casting couch exists in the industry and said, “We’d be lying if we said it doesn’t. I have had my share of uncomfortable encounters, but I learned early on to draw clear boundaries. It’s unfortunate that saying ‘no’ can sometimes slow your progress, but I’d rather succeed on my terms than compromise my integrity.” The actress is a cancer survivor and shared that she will continue to work, create, and inspire.

She said, “Every project after that feels like a gift. It gave my journey a whole new meaning and purpose.” She is drawn to layered, meaningful characters that resonate with real people. She added, “Whether it’s drama, comedy, or grey-shaded roles, I want to play parts that leave a lasting impact.”

“I’m open to OTT — it’s an exciting space with great writing and strong characters. But I also believe in doing what aligns with my comfort zone and values. I won’t say yes to bold scenes or language just for shock value. If it’s organic to the story and handled sensitively, I’m open to exploring — but never at the cost of self-respect,” Rozlyn ended.
