Krishna (Mukul Dev) and Parthu (Aditya Om) are childhood friends that grew up together. Eventually they get Krishna engaged to Parthu's sister Neelima (Aarti Agarwal).

All is well till one day Parthu helps a stranger who as it turns out is a naxalite. Due to this police are convinced that Parthu is a naxalite as well and arrest him.

They resort to torture and are unwilling to believe a word Parthu has to say. Frustrated and angry at his innocent friend's state Krishna turns dark and joins a naxalite group. This plan of vengeance backfires as now the police torture Parthu even more than before as they know that Krishna is his friend and want to know his whereabouts.

Finally when Parthu cannot take the torture anymore he decides to take his own life. Meanwhile Neelima's life has turned around as her brother a suspected naxalite is now dead and her fiance is a naxalite. Society makes life very difficult for her and she decides to adopt the naxalite methods. Eventually Neelima and Krishna cross paths and are shocked to see each other.

Seeing that they were in love and engaged the naxalite group leader decides to get them married but before that could happen Krishna is caught by the police.

Attempting to avenge Krishna's arrest his entire naxalite group is killed except the group leader. Neelima goes to jail to visit Krishna but a corrupt police office Dayakar (Supreeth Reddy) asks for unethical favours if she wants to meet Krishna. Neelima agrees to do anything but first she wants to meet Krishna. Upon meeting him she is shocked to see the extent of his injuries due the torture that he has endured.

To end the misery Neelima slips Krishna a pill that puts an end to his life. She then goes to Inspector Dayakar under the premise of fulfilling her commitment but all of a sudden rage takes over and she starts beating up Dayakar. She chases him on the streets and finally catches hold of him and kills him. She realizes when she looks up that she killed him in front of an entire courtroom.

A shocked judge, police officers and others listen as Neelima goes on to explain her actions and how society and judicial corruption ruined her life. Finally ending it all by taking sinite  and ending her life in the courtroom itself.

Meanwhile the naxalite group leader who had escaped is caught by a group of people who want to change the culture in society. They explain to him that laws are made in the parliament and not in jungles. Therefore naxalites should come forward and choose the democratic way for the people and for the country.

Dil Dhadakne Do team had no network on the cruise

The Dil Dhadakne Do team was set a sail on a cruise to shoot the film.

The film was shot across the Mediterranean and they were extensively travelling on the cruise for 5 weeks.

The team of the film bonded on the cruise and even spent time together when they were not shooting.

In fact, while the ship was sailing there was no network connectivity and only once it would anchor at any port would they get connectivity.

So they all spent even more time together as they did not have their phones to go back to.

Even in between breaks and after pack up they would be seen spending time together.

The entire team would be constantly playing games and engaged in some discussion.

The team of Dil Dhadakne Do had a lot of fun together and this camaraderie is visible on screen.

There is great on screen chemistry visible between all the actors.

Gang of Ghosts - Hindi film Review

Rating: **

A haunted mansion in Mumbai is to be demolished making way for a glitzy shopping mall. The gang of harmless Ghosts of different eras and social spheres residing in this house are to be dislocated.

A remake of the commercially successful Bengali film Bhooter Bhabishyat, Gang of Ghosts comes up as mish-mashed comedy with sub-plots and undesirable buffoonery.

Some of these dilapidated disputed buildings were haunted by Ghosts who had taken shelter there over centuries. They were evicted and are homeless today. There is no rehabilitation package on offer. Politicians, media, intellectuals, civic society- no one gives a dam to them. After all, Ghosts can’t vote.

Royal Mansion is one such heritage property which is rented out for film shoots to facilitate its maintenance. A heroine faints during a shooting allegedly sighting Ghost in a mirror. A filmmaker on a reconnaissance trip to the building gets to hear of a spooky story revolving around the house.

Shuddh Desi Romance - Bollywood film review ***

A romantic comedy which tells it like it is; and like it isn’t.

Does what starts physical always turn into love? And what reaches love, always turn into commitment? How do you figure out?

Shuddh Desi Romance is a fresh and real love story about the hair-raising minefield between love, attraction and commitment. Supposedly a romantic comedy that tells it like it is, but it isn’t.

Having a talented cast in this candid look at the affairs of the heart in today’s desi heartland like the endearing Rishi Kapoor, handsome Sushant Singh Rajput, Parineeti Chopra yet it is the debutant Vaani Kapoor who impressed the most.

This rom-com, directed by Maneesh Sharma, written by Jaideep Sahni, and produced by Aditya Chopra is a journey of three restless young people who junk the society’s syllabus for finding love and decide to follow their heart.
