Baar Baar Dekho – Movie review

Sidharth Malhotra and Katrina Kaif’s pairing electrifies the film. Just that and nothing more.
Much was expected out of Nitya Mehra’s film. After working as an assistant director in films like Ang Lee’s ‘Life of Pie’ and Mira Nair films The Namesake, The Reluctant Fundamentalist, she disappoints in her directorial debut in this romantic drama Baar Baar Dekho.
Baar Baar Dekho also marks the debut of American screenwriter Sri Rao which made news about this film which is based on an ageing romance spanning 30 odd years.
Jai Verma (Sidharth Malhotra) is a Mathematics Professor in Delhi. Diya (Katrina Kaif) is an artist who is madly in love with this handsome professor. They are about to get married when Jai scoffs at the Hindu priest at the time of their wedding about the institution of marriage.

Purani Jeans - Film Review

Rating: ****
Friendship is like a pair of old jeans – the older it gets, the better it becomes – this is the belief that Purani Jeans is based on.
Purani Jeans centres around Siddarth Ray (Tanuj Virwani) who learns this belief as he journeys from New York back to his hometown Kasauli, a small hill station in India, after 12 long years. The main hook of the film is friendship. Those unforgettable memories of old friends – somewhat similar to Rock On and Dil Chahta Hai, yet it appears fresh, courtesy the young, bubbly cast of this friendship flick.
The film unfolds as a coming-of-age drama about a summer when Sidharth, his best friend Sam (Aditya Seal) and their gang of friends experience the agony & ecstasy of growing up, forming bonds of friendship, trust, jealousy, joy, envy & love.
