DANIEL WEBER TAKES HINDI LESSONS FROM WIFE SUNNY LEONE

When Bollywood’s current hot favorite comes in support of her spouse what more do you expect than a revelation. Isn’t it the best feeling when your better half supports and stands by not just during your thick and thins but holds your hand and supports you in your new ventures?

Daniel Weber who is set to make his Bollywood debut with “Dangerous Husn” has been taking hindi lessons in order to improve his hindi diction. Guess who’s helping the handsome hunk.

Daniel looks forward to speaking in Hindi for his films and wants to do movies that he would love to watch as a spectator. “I’m still learning every day, and I’m learning to adapt and adjust. I work as much as I can. I have learnt to read and write, I try to watch films without subtitles so that I can understand Hindi better” further adding “I started taking Hindi classes few months back. I understand at least 80 percent. I’m trying really hard. I have been a citizen of India since quite some time so I understand the basic hindi but speaking in day to day life is different than delivering dialogues in hindi”

Elaborating about Sunny Leone being his teacher, Daniel says “Sunny indeed helps me a lot. She speaks to me in Hindi so that I can be well versed with the language which will help with my dialogues. We stay connected through the day and she constantly advises me about the camera look, my dialogues etc. She’s been not just a wife but also a dotting teacher to me”

Dhruv Ghanekar’s New Video featuring Ila Arun redefines Goth in India

Mumbai, 10th April, 2014 : Dhima is a new single by composer, producer, singer-songwriter and guitarist Dhruv Ghanekar from his recently launched album Voyage. Dhruv has been known to compose music in virtually all genres and his latest single Dhima can be described as a hybrid of gothic rock, North African rhythms, and new wave. The video is all set to accelerate the momentum of the evolution of music in India and holds great promise of creating a new wave of Indian music in the Indie space.

Dhruv on his single music video says, “Dhima is a song inspired by the desert of Rajasthan and North Africa. I have been listening to music from West and North Africa and found that there are so many intrinsic synergies in both the musical cultures. The marriage of these two sounds was screaming to be fused! Ila Arun was a logical fit to sing the song as she is the Queen of folk music in India. On drums Karim Ziad who hails from Algeria but is a Parisian and Linley Marthe on bass finished off the sound. The video runs into a direction that has not really been explored in this country .By giving it a Steam Punk -Gothic vibe, Razy Ghai has created a visually stunning interpretation that challenges the viewer both sonically and visually”.

Dhima is all set to tear down the barriers with its cinematic presentation. Directed by Razy Ghai of Asylum Films, Dhima features both these creative geniuses who have styled the video with a certain dark theatricality. The gothic grunge themed video features an eclectic blend of the fantastic, the ghoulish, the bizarre and the forbidden! The uniqueness of all its creative aspects - from the lyrics and storyline to the characters and their antics; from the make-up and lighting to the sound mixing and production design - leaves one spellbound, intrigued and enthralled all at once. The video for the single showcases Ila Arun like  never seen before. Decked out in a dark gothic attire the singer’s signature husky voice brings a distinct sound to the single. The sexy, extravagant video explores the dark side of human nature with visions of anarchy, monsters, love and death set in a Burlesque Goth setting. Never before has an Indian music video even attempted such a diverse representation and encapsulation of its creative vision. While Ila Arun leaves one breathless with her deep notes, Dhruv’s phenomenal guitar solo is honest and raw trimmed with a dangerous edge setting him apart from his peers.

Ila Arun commented, “When I was asked to collaborate on an ethnic folk song on Dhruv Ghanekar’s international world music album with such a star studded array to musicians from all over the world, I was thrilled and nervous  ...however the experience of recording the song turned out to be fantastic and totally invigorating.”

The video is being marketed and published on Dhruv’s youtube channel by Qyuki, a multi-channel network focused on music, founded by Shekhar Kapur, Samir Bangara and AR Rahman. ”Dhima is a game-changer in the Indie music scene in India and we’re proud to have Dhruv as part of our network. Mumbai is not a shooting friendly place, says Dilip K. Mukharaiya director of PARESHAANPUR

'Pareshaanpur' that is to be released in the month of June, we interviewed Director cum Screenwriter cum Producer of the film Mr. Dilip K Mukharaiya. The film features Urmila Mahanta and Ameet Dawar in the lead role. The movie features Shakti Kapoor, Asrani, Pitobash Tripathy, Manoj Joshi, Sitaram Panchal,Sunial Pal and Shakti Mohan in the supporting role.

"Mumbai is not a shooting friendly place, even our industry people are indulging in wrong doings and harassment!!", says director of film Pareshaanpur

Having worked for many TV channels and films as screenwriter and assistant director, Dilip Mukharaiya is now not only donning the hat of a script-writer and director for his film ‘Pareshaanpur’ but is also producing it. All geared up to make his way in Bollywood, Dilip spared some time to talk to us. Read excerpts from the interview:

How did the idea of Pareshaanpur originate?

Dilip: The idea of Pareshaanpur came as a routine subject, I always looking for a movie. Though this is a comedy film I have to think or put myself or my situations or my surroundings as subject/ idea. But, of-course I created a colourful story out of this and created characters that are born to be a ‘Pareshaan’ person with actually no ‘pareshaani’ in their lives. These mind-sets gave me a start to create Pareshaanpur but in a funny way.

Tell us about the movie Pareshaanpur.

Dilip: As I said earlier Pareshaanpur is a mind-set. All of us have problems and solutions by their own, but some peoples only have problems 24*7 in their lives and are looking for the excuses or blame other sources for it. So, there are a few gentlemen in our society who are taking care of these 'mind sets' by nurturing their believes and exploiting them. So, this story belongs to a village called ‘Shaanpur’, but it has been taunted as well insulted as ‘bad omen’ because the villagers believe there is so much of ‘‘Pareshaani” inspite of “Shaan” in the village. Even in a simple thing that happen to their life they mix up with shagun and apshagun (auspicious and inauspicious) without using their logical reasoning. This universal concept of being a 'Pareshaan' or having lots of Pareshaani is visualized in form of cinema but within comical satire supported by good music by Raaj Aashoo.

Pareshhanpur is a comedy film. Who has been your inspiration when it comes to this genre?

Me: Haha...I don't have any inspiration...it can’t be. I am the creator of my own ideas based on the characters or situations I familiar with. Every person in my life whether they are my friends, colleagues, my unit members or my relatives. Everyone can inspire us if we are open to listen and observe them. Life is full of comedy; we have to come out of our problems and 'Pareshaaniyaas'. Don’t give enough time to your Negativity to conquer your daily life, have a laugh in life, and enjoy the positivity.

The film is mostly shot in remote areas. Did you face difficulties during the shoot?

Dilip: Difficulties? Lots of...but when I was shooting in and around Mumbai. But, as I shot mostly out of Mumbai, places like Kolhapur, Nagpur and Punjab, I found fewer problems, higher percentage of good people and off course great locations. Mumbai is not a shooting friendly place, even our industry people are indulging in wrong doings and harassment. They form different types of unions to just target the Producer/Film maker and their work.

Tell me about your background?

Dilip: I am from Gwalior city of Madhya Pradesh (MP), came to Mumbai to follow my instincts - know nothing but have to do something. I wanted to be a Film director and started working with directors like Shriram Raghvan, Shivam Nair, Aruna Raje, Patil etc. As an assistant director or dialogue writer or script writer, those were my initial days when Shriram Raghvan encouraged me to write scripts or dialogues along with assisting him, Shivan Nair gave me the chance as dialogue writer. I followed their instructions/guidance to move ahead. They are my mentors, friends and guides.

It’s the first Hindi film of both Urmila and Ameet. What are your expectations?

Me: Ameet Dawar and Urmila Mahanta, both have a great career ahead, I have quite high expectations from both of them. Both of them are talented and doing their first Hindi cinema as lead. I would just want say them, ‘Chances and opportunities will knock your doors, don’t take random decision or don’t fall for any project or script or banner without putting yourself at first place. I know both are sharp and intelligent, deserve a great career. My wishes are with them always.

What was your experience working for the film?

Dilip: I am making my career from this film as an independent director as well as, as a producer. So, you can imagine the amount as well as the variety of experiences I had. It’s a lifetime experience, learning and lesson, both. This film taught me - what is THE LIFE.

As a debutant director, did you have apprehensions during the filming?

Dilip: Not apprehensions but excitement was the factor. Some doubts happened on few occasions but I discussed openly with my team, mainly with my DOP Ramani Ranjandas. He is the most trusted person along with my colleague/ Executive Producer Neer Dhillon. In editing I am having a great support of my editor Sanjay Ingle too.

What are your plans for theatrical release of the film?

Dilip: I am planning for a May ending or June 2015 release.

Mrs. India 2015 Priyanka Khurana Goyal supports Khushi NGO’s Cause-a-thon

Mumbai: Every year, April is seen as the World Autism Awareness Month. To respect the theme, Khushi Pediatric therapy centre  organised a special run – Cause-a-thon 2015 -- to raise awareness on Autism (http://www.causeathon.in). The event was graced by well known celebrities Mrs. India 2015- Queen of Substance Priyanka Khurana Goyal, singer Shaan and Anita Raj.

A step initiated by an NGO, Khushi Pediatric therapy centre in 2013, Cause-a-thon has been well received by celebrities, media and the people of Mumbai.  Khushi organised this special  7-kilometer and 1-kilometre Marathon at Taj Lands End as a part of their Autism Awareness Campaign.

This year the kids with Autism and other children with special needs were seen conducting the event. The kids had taken up the responsibility of escorting guests and conducting the event through compering and giving away medals to the winners and refreshments to all participants. That’s not all, this year Khushi had registered kids with Autism and children with special needs to run with other participants in Cause-a-thon 2015.  Mrs India 2015, Priyanka Khurana Goyal conducted the warm up before the race for all runners while Shaan gave the flag off to the run and the yester year actress Anita Raj gave away the prizes.

On this occasion Mrs. Priyanka Khurana Goyal saidAutism didn’t stop Einstein, Newton or Mozart from reaching the stars and creating the enlightenment that the world is enjoying today – it won’t stop these kids either! It seems that for success in science or art, a bit of autism is needed. The world of these children is just different from ours and what is needed more today is acceptance of autism rather than awareness of it like a disorder. It is just different and should not be looked down upon just because we ‘normal’ people cannot speed up our brain to the same level as those kiddos!  I commend Kushi on this great initiative!”

Farah, Nawazuddin at Ritesh Batra’s workshop in Merwan Cafe -

As a part of his initiative to revive the Irani Cafes in Mumbai, Ritesh Batra’s production company Poetic License is doing a series of events at different Irani Cafes across the city. The first three sessions were at Koolar Cafe,Kyani cafe and Excelsior cafe.
.
Says Nawazuddin Siddiqui, “In 1920′s there were many Irani cafes now there are only about 20-25 left. It is important to revive these cafes as they are Mumbai’s identity. If we don’t save them, the lovely environment of these cafes will die out. This initiative should surely help in reviving these cafes.”
Mr.Bomi Irani (Merwan cafe owner) was thrilled about the workshop, “Irani cafes are dwindling because no one wants to come here anymore. The children of cafe owners do not want to pursue this profession as they want to go abroad to get white collar jobs. This is the real situation which is sad. My niece Farah likes coming to my cafe off and on and loves our mawa cakes. I am positive that her coming forward for this new initiative will definitely make a difference to review Irani cafes”
